BALIKBAYAN VISA
 
 
The Balikbayan Visa - it is a one (1) year temporary visa, granted to the foreigner who is lawfully married to a Filipino citizen upon arrival at the port of entry in the Philippine Immigration area. Provided the foreigner is entering with the spouse who has been out of the Philippines jurisdiction not less than six (6) months.
 
Advantages and Disadvantages:
 
Advantages:
  • Gives you right to stay in the Philippines in a tourist status for not more than a period of one (1) year.

 

Disadvantages:

  • The one (1) year temporary Balikbayan visa will automatically be invalid once the individual exits the Philippines jurisdiction
    before one (1) year from the date visa was granted.
  • No right to work
  • No extension of Visa
